Coaching, Consulting, and Training Services

Capital Campaign Coaching

  • Capital campaigns for new buildings, renovations or endowment building can be described as fundraising on steroids or, using a metaphor, riding a wild stallion without a saddle.
  • Serving as your coach to the CEO/Executive Director, capital campaign committee and Board, I journey alongside the organization during the planning, quiet and public phrases of the campaign and assist you with staying on track and adapting the inevitable changes in strategies.

Fund Development Coaching for Staff, Board, and Volunteers

  • During this fund development coaching relationship, Board members, staff and volunteers gain the confidence, knowledge, and skills needed to participate in the fund development cycle effectively. Together we define the fundraising vehicles and strategies appropriate for the organization and for likely, prospective and current donors. In addition, I coach the Board and staff through the policies, procedures and infrastructure necessary for a comprehensive fund development program.
  • This coaching benefits both the “new to fund development” professional and the experienced professional who needs a sounding board and an outside perspective.

Customized Fund Development Training

  • Based on the organization’s needs, I customize a training addressing fund development strategies, governance in fundraising and philanthropy in order to inform and energize Board members, staff, volunteer and community members. Select trainings may be eligible to be grant-funded.
Nice work Chany. Interesting, practical, and useful content with heart. ❤️

Informed Annual Fund Development Plan Creation and Updates

  • Given that the number one indicator of success for a nonprofit is to have an annual fund development plan, I guide the development of a customized annual fund development plan and a framework for a nonprofit to update the plan yearly. This process also includes the customized matching of the appropriate fund raising vehicles to donor profile of the organization.
  • Through this informed fund development planning process, the Board, staff and volunteers learn the basics of fundraising through training customized to the nonprofit. During the facilitated fund development planning retreat, each Board member, staff and volunteer has the opportunity to commit to overseeing and implementing the fund development plan we co-create. As a result, each person understands their role in this pro-active comprehensive annual fund development plan.

Fund Development Infrastructure Development

  • Without structure, the process of fundraising can be cumbersome. Together, I work with the Board, staff and/or volunteers to develop fund development policies, protocols, procedures, and board agreements around fundraising.

Fundraising Program, Project & Initiative Planning

  • Planning is important to time-limited, concrete fundraising projects and initiatives. Together, I guide the creation of strategies and action plans appropriate to the project and initiative.

Revenue Dependencies and Fundraising Effectiveness Analysis

  • A crucial element for strategic planning is to understand the dependency an organization has on its funding sources; that is, the dependency quotient. I adapt the BoardSource’s Measuring Fundraising Effectiveness tool and look deeper at all of the revenue dependencies for an organization.  Through presentations with the Board and Executive staff, I provide the key questions to consider. This knowledge informs the Board’s decisions during the strategic planning process, including any decisions to mitigate the risks of specific funding sources and strengthen any current capacities.
